The Sherry Cobbler is one of the cocktails that originated in America in the mid-19th century and quickly became very popular. At the time, sherry wine was quite common in America and bartenders started mixing it with ice and fruit to make it more refreshing and drinkable. This simple but effective method soon became widespread in bar culture.

Cobbler-style cocktails were especially popular during the Victorian era. Some historians even say that it was thanks to this cocktail that the straw became widespread in bars. Because Sherry Cobbler was served with lots of ice and fruit, using a straw made it easier for me to drink.
