Lomasney's success was especially well supported in Boston's Ward Eight. On election night, he was asked to create a special cocktail to celebrate his victory at the famous Locke-Ober Café in Boston. The bartenders created a new drink using rye whiskey, citrus and grenadine and called it "Ward Eight".
