COCKTAIL RECIPE
Paper Plane
A modern classic cocktail made with Bourbon, Aperol and Amaro Nonino.
The Paper Plane cocktail is a modern classic created by renowned bartender Sam Ross in New York in 2008. The cocktail first appeared on a menu for The Violet Hour bar in Chicago and quickly gained attention on the world bar scene.
When Sam Ross created this cocktail, he wanted to create a recipe that was both balanced and easy to remember. Therefore, he designed the cocktail with the principle of four equal measures. Bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino and fresh lemon juice are each used in equal amounts. This structure not only makes the cocktail easier to prepare but also makes the flavor balance very clear.
“Sometimes the longest journeys begin with a small paper airplane that takes off with a simple idea”
