COCKTAIL RECIPE
White Lady
White Lady is an elegant classic cocktail made with gin, orange liqueur and fresh lemon juice. Thanks to its citrusy aroma and balanced structure, it offers a refreshing yet powerful drink. The addition of egg whites gives the drink a velvety texture.
The White Lady cocktail is one of the elegant classics of the early 20th century. The first version of the cocktail was created in 1919 by the famous bartender Harry MacElhone. At the time, MacElhone was working at Ciro's Club in London and experimenting with many new cocktails.
However, the White Lady recipe we know today came later. MacElhone later became the owner of the famous Harry's New York Bar in Paris and made some changes to the recipe. The first version used crème de menthe instead of gin, but this recipe changed over time and the gin-based version became permanent.

The cocktail was particularly popular in European bars in the 1920s and 1930s. Thanks to its elegant appearance and citrusy character, it was frequently served in the luxury hotel bars of the time.
