COCKTAIL RECIPE
Singapore Sling
It is an aromatic and iconic cocktail made with gin, cherry liqueur and tropical fruit juices.
The Singapore Sling cocktail is one of the most famous drinks in cocktail history, with origins dating back to the early 20th century. The story of this cocktail begins at the Long Bar of the famous Raffles Hotel in Singapore.
Created in 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon, this drink had a very interesting purpose according to the social rules of the time. In many societies at the time, it was frowned upon for women to drink alcohol directly in bars. So women often preferred drinks that looked like fruit juice or tea.

With this in mind, Ngiam Tong Boon created a cocktail that looks like a tropical fruit drink but is actually complex. A combination of gin, cherry liqueur, pomegranate syrup and pineapple juice, this drink quickly became the most famous cocktail at Raffles Hotel.
