The Pornstar Martini was created in 2002 in London by the famous bartender Douglas Ankrah. While working at the Lab Bar in London, Ankrah wanted to create a modern cocktail that emphasized tropical flavors. Combining the flavors of passion fruit and vanilla, this cocktail quickly attracted great attention in the bar world.

The name of the cocktail is quite remarkable. Douglas Ankrah said that he named the drink after an adult entertainment club and wanted it to have a "bold, fun and unforgettable" character. Hence the name of the cocktail, Pornstar Martini.
