COCKTAIL RECIPE
Painkiller
Painkiller is a creamy and refreshing tiki cocktail that combines the tropical flavors of pineapple and coconut with rum.
The Painkiller cocktail is a tropical classic born in the British Virgin Islands, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. It is said to have originated in the 1970s in a small beach bar called the Soggy Dollar Bar. This bar had an interesting feature: there was no pier at the time, so visitors had to swim from their boats to the shore. Due to the soaking dollar bills, the bar became known as "Soggy Dollar", meaning "wet dollar".
One day the owner of the bar wanted to create a drink that was refreshing yet satisfying in the hot Caribbean sun. He created a new concoction by combining tropical ingredients such as rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream. As a finishing touch, he added freshly grated nutmeg. The result was even better than expected.
