Midori Sour is one of the modern cocktails that emerged in the late 1970s and quickly became popular around the world. The story begins with Midori, a bright green melon liqueur developed by the Japanese liquor producer Suntory.

Midori was first introduced in 1978 at the famous Studio 54 nightclub in New York. At that time, the nightlife culture was very colorful and flamboyant. Brightly colored drinks, different flavors and new cocktail experiences were very popular. Midori's vibrant green color and sweet melon aroma made it the perfect ingredient for bartenders to come up with creative recipes.
