What is a Jigger?

A jigger is a measuring cup used for cocktail preparation and is standard in professional bars. It is usually made of metal and has two sides: one side is designed with a small volume (usually 15 ml - 0.5 oz) and the other side with a larger volume (usually 30 ml - 1 oz). This construction allows bartenders to adjust measurements quickly and precisely. Measurement accuracy is critical for the consistency and flavor balance of cocktails. The Jigger is essential equipment for both home users and professional bars.

How to use it?

When using a jigger, you pour the liquid you want to measure into the appropriate side. The smaller side is usually used for single shot measurements and the larger side for double shots or other standard measurements. You can fill the Jigger by holding it steady on the glass or by tilting it slightly. After pouring the material into the glass, you can repeat the same process for other materials. When used correctly, both the quantities are correct and the flavor balance of the mixture is maintained.
